First of all, it is a complex of 1,3 beta-glucans obtained by fermentation, through a patented process, from Euglena gracilis algae.
Euglena gracilis is an algae that grows in freshwater pools. It is one of the few algae species that produces 1.3 Beta-glucans, and in particular one type of Beta-glucan, paramylon.
Beta-glucans are polysaccharides (sugars) with complex structures that are not absorbed and are metabolised by the gut microbiota.

- For its supporting studies
The development of this product originated after investigating the actions of beta-glucans themselves. In fact, one study observed that they are recognised by immune system cells, which first internalise them and then produce signalling molecules for the immune response [1].
From this observation, specific analyses of BetaViaTM Complete were initiated, first in vitro, which observed that it stimulates the growth of probiotic bacteria such as Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium[2], then in vivo to investigate the effect on the human organism.
Interestingly, this clinical study[3], compared the effects on the immune system following the intake of 375 mg of BetaViaTM Complete for 90 days vs. taking a placebo.
The results were very interesting, as BetaViaTM Complete caused:
- Effects on respiratory tract disorders
- Modulation of respiratory tract episodes
- Reduction in the duration of respiratory ailments

It is an approved Novel food
